The Boerboel is a very large, strong and intelligent working dog. It is well balanced with good muscle development and very light in its movement. This is a very impressive and imposing dog . The head is the most important feature of the Boerboel. Representing its total personality, it is short, broad, and square with strong muscular features and full cheeks. This dog is very reliable, obedient and intelligent. It has strong watchdog and guard-dog instincts. They are very playful and affectionate toward their owners and their favorite thing would be to play a game of fetch with their master. Watch out, however as their jaws are very strong and they will most likely break the ball they are playing with! They stand between 25-28 inches and weigh between 150-200 pounds! HUGE! The Boerboel is not recommended for apartment life. They should, at least, have a large, fenced in yard to run and play. |
