The Black Mouth Cur is a strong dog with a muscular chest and a dome-shaped head. He has a square shaped muzzle that is usually black. Their ears hang beside their heads and they have a long tail which may be docked. Blackmouth Curs were originally bred in the Southern U.S and they make an excellent hunting companion. They are large dogs with a strong instinct for finding their prey. Their coats come in reddish-golden yellow, sandy yellow or fawn with or without a black mask. Because the coat is short and smooth, it requires minimal grooming. These dogs are even-tempered and extremely loyal to their masters. They will even risk their lives to protect them! The Cur stands about 16-25 inches and weighs between 45-95 pounds. You can't go wrong with this dog. He is truly mans best friend. |
