The Tervuren is yet another Belgian sheepdog which is slender, squarely proportioned and solidly muscled. Its coat may be fawn to mahogany with some shades of gray and some white on the chest, toes and chin. The hair on the head, legs, and outer surface of the ears is short. The Belgian Tervuren coat generally darkens as it gets older. This particular breed has a light, graceful, almost floating gait. They stand about 24-26 inches tall and weigh between 65-75 pounds, the females weighing about 5 pounds lighter. Like his brothers, he also need special socialization and training in order to avoid some temperamental problems. He thrives on loving companionship and loves to please his master. This breed has a lot of extra energy and needs a job to do in order to be happy. Give him a little space and some adequate attention and he can make an excellent pet! |
