A muscular, yet graceful dog, the Argentine Dogo has extremely strong jaws, and a short, thick, glossy white coat. The chest is wide and deep giving an impression of strength. He is an excellent guardian of the home, loyal to the family and extremely playful. They generally stand about two feet or 27 inches high and weigh around 80 to 100 pounds. This is not a small dog but he is good with children and loves to kiss and cuddle with people that the family accepts. Dogos are easy to train and highly intelligent but they need a firm, consistent and loving hand. Although Dogos can be aggressive with other dogs, they do not usually provoke the confrontation. They are good with other pets but only if they are raised with them from puppyhood. This is not a pet for everyone but with the proper attention he will make a wonderful addition to the family. |
