True heart. True doggedness. These descriptions are often used to describe the American Bulldog. He is the all-purpose working dog; a classic family pet, good with children, yet at the same time, fearlessly determined. He has been known to display heroic acts of courage and to rescue his master from death. The American Bulldog has also been used as a great hunting dog, and has been trained to drive cattle and guard stock from predators. He generally stands around two feet to 27 inches and weighs in at anywhere from 75 to 125 pounds. The female is relatively smaller at 60 to 100 pounds. They have an all white or up to 90% white color with some red or brown patches. The coat is very short and stiff to the touch. This is a stout, well-proportioned dog with very straight and balanced features. He stands proud and has an unforgettable classic look. This is a great all-around pet. |
