The Brittany is a hearty and vigorous, medium-sized dog with a short coat. He is very agile and has a smart looking face. They usually stand between 17-21 inches and weigh 35-40 pounds. This breed is very jolly and can be very enthusiastic hunters especially of woodcock, partridge, and hare. They are active, untiring, and very affectionate dogs. Some can be a little nervous or even hyperactive and will become timid if they are treated roughly. Socializing them early will help them to be more confident. The Brittany likes to roam. They are good with children if they are raised with kids from early puppyhood. They also have an outstanding instinct for retrieving from the water. The Brittany has earned great popularity among hunters because of his medium size that allows hunters to transport him easily. Because of his jolly character, he is also popular as a companion dog. |
