The Alaskan Klee Kai was developed in Alaska, to be a smaller companion-sized version of the Alaskan Husky. It is still an extremely rare dog. He has a wedge-shaped head featuring a striking masked face, and a double coat. The length of his back is just slightly longer than his height. His tail is well-furred and curls over top of him or sometimes to either side when he is alert and bouncing around. The most distinctive characteristic is his facial mask which is clearly visible due to its contrasting colors. He is very curious, active, and extremely agile. His loyalty and alertness make him an excellent watchdog who may be territorial despite his small size. While affectionate with family members, the Alaskan Klee Kai is reserved and cautious with strangers. With his master, however, he can be a wonderful friend who loves to wrestle and have lots of fun.
